Find and share trans-inclusive spaces

About us

We’re concerned about trans exclusion from public life in Bristol, and we want to do our part to ensure our city remains trans-inclusive.

Our website will be a way for anyone affected to keep track of inclusion and exclusion, make existing knowledge more accessible, and invite community members to share their experiences.

We will not track you, and we’ll only use data that is publicly available or that our users consent to sharing by submitting their feedback. Our tech is open source, to make it transparent and to allow others use it for their cause or where they live.

How it works

• To get started, we made a map displaying all places that have signed up to the Safe Spaces Bristol scheme.
• We want to add more places - and your experiences at these places – to this map!
• So: You can help grow the map by submitting your experiences via this submission form.
• This means, if you have a particularly lovely experience at a place, you can tell other people about it! Same if you have a bad one. This way, we can all grow and share community knowledge!
• This short submission form will ask you to briefly describe your experience. We will display this information by associating it with a new pin on the map - or adding it to an existing pin.
• To use the website you don’t need to give us any data, but if you want to submit an experience we collect and store this data on the basis of consent, which can be revoked at any point.

What is coming

• We have more ideas of what we would like to add to this, but for now we want to focus on getting as much information as we can!
• This necessarily involves seeing whether there is community uptake for this - and seeing what your feedback is.
